Michael Jackson's father has often sounded like the worst thing in his son's life. Is he hoping to provide his son with a beard of sorts or trying to convince himself?
Michael Jackson, for years subject to rumours over his sexuality, "loved many women" and had torrid affairs with some, according to excerpts from a new tell-all book by his father Joseph Jackson published in Germany's Bild newspaper Thursday.
The German version of the book, which the elder Jackson said he wrote in order to dispel "falsehoods" about his son, goes on sale 6 September.
The English-language edition is however being withheld pending resolution of lawsuits against the 45-year-old King of Pop.

YEAH RIGHT! Now all of a sudden Michael had girlfriends? I’ll believe it when I hear Michael Jackson say it. NAW, I wouldn’t! You would say anything if you were in the situation that he is in. You know…just to make yourself look good. They should let the English version be sold. Do you know how much money it would make? People would buy it just to get a good laugh. I know I would!
