The way the procedure is performed is first, they give you a light sedative and local anesthetic. Then the surgeon will make a small incision in the back of your head to collect hair follicles that will make up your new eyelashes. The surgeon will then sew the hair he removed from your scalp onto your eyelids.

Erica Lynn, 27, a Florida model with breast implants and a nose job, had eyelash transplants three years ago because she was fed up with wearing extensions on her sandy-coloured lashes.
“When I found out about it, I just had to have it done. Everyone I mention it to wants it. I think eyelashes are awesome. You can never have enough of them,” Lynn said.

Double Bay hair transplant physician Dr Russell Knudsen said most of the inquiries he received about the procedure were from young girls.
But he warned that if the hair grew in the wrong direction it could scratch the eyeball and potentially lead to an ulcer and even blindness.
