Japanese kogal style - based on school girl costumes - confuses people in other countries.

I've heard that some Japanese women wearing kogal fashion have been mistaken as prostitute while traveling to foreign countries. For those of you who do not know what kogal fashion is, here is a primer. Like many other countries, Japanese schoolgirls (and boys too) have to wear a uniform (School Girl Costume).

I think that kogal fashion is an image or persona that the media in japan had created. It’s what THEY say that is fashionable or sexy, and everyone who wants to be like that has to act the same. Fashion is about expressing yourself and not pretending to play an image some comics or anime proposes. It’s just a fantacy, nothing real or honest about it. Nothing creative or classy.
