I haven’t heard of Fran Drescher since The Nanny vanished from America’s television screens. There’s speculation she might run for a New York state senate seat. Surely Senator Drescher would be at least as qualified as some boring lawyer and a good deal more entertaining.
She may not hold office yet, but Drescher has become a familiar face in the nation’s capital: Last month, the actress joined Alicia Keys, Sheryl Crow and other stars for a meeting with Michelle Obama at the White House and a day of visits to DC-area schools.
