Battle of the Bimbos

» Television

Decades ago Frederick Pohl and C.M. Kornbluth made up what they imagined to be silly television programming in the future. Nothing they dreamt up could match Battle of the Bods, which attemps to combine women’s insecurities about their looks with adolescent male lust.

“KushTV.com gives Fox Reality Channel the ability to niche-target a young male audience who would be attracted to our late-night programming lineup and we are looking forward to a successful partnership,” stated Lorey Zlotnick, SVP of Marketing & On-Air Promotions. “Fox Reality Channel is testing ways to create a buzz virally, and linking to areas of social networking seems like a natural place to gain some traction.”

Battle of the Bods hostess offers this insight:

Guys that tell you that your “bum” isn’t big are lying to you. They seem to like girls with large boobs and small bums. Every show had different drama so it made for an interesting game show.

Slate sums it up:

It should be clear that Battle of the Bods is innovatively vile. Further, it is virally vile. To watch it is to play along and to start sizing up the women like a frat boy during orientation week. Worse, it is boringly vile.

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about Battle of the Bimbos. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
